As of 31st May 2018 chemicals sold in the EU needed to be REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) registered through ECHA (European Chemicals Agency), therefore we made the necessary changes to our supply chain to adhere to these legislative changes. We now have Brexit on our horizon, therefore when the UK leaves the EU this will change once again.
What next ?
We have held numerous discussions with our leading association the CBA (Chemical Business Association) and attended their seminars to ensure we are dealing with any Brexit issues at the earliest opportunity.
At present the UK is in the `transition period’ which will end on 31st December 2020 and at this point we will learn if the UK will leave the EU with or without a deal.
If the UK leaves the E.U without a deal in place we will make notifications to UK REACH for all of our products, we then have two years in which to complete the registration process for these products. However this process is not yet available and nothing can be done until the UK we have left the E.U.
